The short story we picked was The Second Bakery Attack. At that time, we planned to star Pooi-Lam Wong and Herman Kwong (both from Star Field) in the production. Unfortunately, The Second Bakery Attack never materialised. Pooi-Lam went back to Hong Kong in Summer 1997 and she introduced Ada Ma to me before she left. In Winter 1997, I revised the idea and decided that I would not be too happy with a straight-out-of-book translation. I recalled a story told by Dominic Chan back in 1995, and decided to blend the two ideas together. Memory Chase was shot during Apr - Jun 1998. Film locations include Hunstanton, Saffron Walden, Ely and Cambridge. There were two canteen scenes. The first canteen was the cliff café at Hunstanton beach; the second canteen was Little Rose Restaurant at Cambridge. The shop scene was shot at Bernard, Mill Road, Cambridge, on a Sunday afternoon. We thanked everyone who assisted the production. Music was taken from Songs from a Secret Garden by Fionnuala Sherry and Rolf Lovland, and Tubular Bells III by Mike Oldfield. The Nikon camera, you geussed it, is not mine. I thanked Jimmy Chan for lending me the camera, which is also used for taking photos of Ada.
